Prism Fee documentation
Everything the prism does with a fee that was already taken: how it is read, how it splits, where each colour lands, and why the white ray is always that thin.
Overview
Most coins take a fee on every buy. Where that fee goes is usually written in a whitepaper and then never mentioned again. Prism Fee reads the fee from any buy as one white beam, passes it through glass and splits it by destination into seven rays, one per wallet that got paid.
The prism does not take a fee of its own and never touches a wallet. It only shows the split, in colour, with the amounts.
Quickstart
- Pick a buyAny buy on any coin with a fee. Yours, or someone else’s from the feed.
- Read the beamThe prism turns the fee into one white number. A $500 buy at 1% is a $5.00 beam.
- Split itSeven rays come out with names and amounts. The red one is usually coffee.
- Print the receiptThe receipt lists every ray and ends with “Returned to you: $0.00”, stamped.

Glossary
| Term | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Beam | The whole fee from one buy, as a single white number. |
| Ray | One destination after the prism. Each ray is a wallet with a name and a share. |
| Share | The part of the beam a ray carries. All seven add up to 100%. |
| White ray | You. It goes straight through the glass and lands on zero. |
| Coffee index | The red ray, converted into oat flat whites at $4.90 each. |
| Quotes | Added by the prism to any wallet that calls itself “marketing”. |
The seven rays
Rays are sorted by wavelength, which here means by share. Red bends least and carries the most.
| Ray | Recipient | Share | Of a $5.00 fee |
|---|---|---|---|
| Red | Dev’s coffee | 31% | $1.55 |
| Orange | The KOL | 24% | $1.20 |
| Yellow | “Marketing” | 18% | $0.90 |
| Green | Dev’s mom | 11% | $0.55 |
| Blue | Validators | 9% | $0.45 |
| Violet | Burn address | 7% | $0.35 |
| White | You | 0.0% | $0.00 |
How shares are read
Shares are read from where the fee actually went, wallet by wallet, not from where the whitepaper said it would go. The two lists rarely match, so the prism keeps only the first.
500 × 0.01 × 0.31 = $1.55
The seven shares on this page are a typical coin. A real coin can have different numbers. It almost never has a bigger white ray.
The white ray
White light does not split, so the white ray goes straight through the glass and lands exactly where it started. It is drawn on every chart, in every table and in every receipt, at its true width, which is about one pixel.
The coffee index
The red ray is priced in coffee because coffee is the one asset whose price has only ever gone up. One unit is an oat flat white, large, at $4.90.
A $500 buy is a third of a coffee. Five buys of $1,000 a day keep the dev in about 95 coffees a month.
The live feed
The feed on the main page is a stream of buys at typical sizes on a typical coin, priced at a fixed $180 SOL. Each row shows the buy, the fee, the coffee it bought and a thin spectrum strip under it. The last column is always the same.
The feed is a simulation, not a live coin. The split it uses is the same one on this page.
Receipts
Every refracted buy can be printed as a receipt: one line per ray, the total fee, and a last line that reads Returned to you $0.00. Receipts are stamped “paid by you”, because that part is accurate.
receiptPRISM FEE · RECEIPT
one buy of $500.00 · fee 1%
-------------------------------
Dev’s coffee $1.55
The KOL $1.20
“Marketing” $0.90
Dev’s mom $0.55
Validators $0.45
Burn address $0.35
You $0.00
-------------------------------
Fee paid $5.00
Returned to you $0.00
Dispersion by destination
In ordinary glass, light splits by wavelength. In this prism it splits by destination wallet. Each recipient gets its own angle, and the angle is wider the more it took.
The result looks like a rainbow and reads like an expense report.
Labels and quotes
Every ray ends at a wallet with a label. Labels are copied exactly as the wallet describes itself. Where a description is aspirational, the prism adds quotes.
- “Marketing” always gets quotes.
- Dev’s mom never does. She is exactly who she says she is.
- Validators are labelled plainly. They did the work.
Authentication
The refract endpoint is open and needs no key. Keys are only used to put your name on the white ray, which needs $FEE in the wallet behind the key.

| Param | Type | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| buy | number | Buy size in USD. |
| fee | number | Fee rate. Defaults to 0.01. |
| coin | string | Optional mint address to read a specific coin’s split. |
Errors
| Code | Type | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| 400 | no_fee | The coin takes no fee. There is no beam, and the prism is briefly moved. |
| 404 | coin_not_found | The mint is not on Solana, or is no longer anywhere. |
| 409 | share_over_100 | The rays add up to more than the fee. Someone is being paid twice. |
| 418 | white_ray_above_zero | You got paid. The prism could not reproduce this and assumes an error. |
The token
$FEE is the Prism Fee token on Solana. It is not part of any split and does not receive any ray. Holding it changes one thing, described below.
Your name on white
Wallets holding $FEE get their name written on the white ray in bold, next to the zero, on every chart and receipt they print. The share does not change. Nothing changes the share.

Program interface
Three instructions. None of them moves money, because the money already moved.
instructionsread_fee(buy_tx) // the beam: fee taken on one buy refract(beam) // seven rays, sorted by share label_white(wallet) // $FEE holders: name on the zero
Risks
- You see where the fee went. This cannot be unseen.
- The dev switches to espresso. The coffee index gets more efficient and less visible.
- The KOL reposts. The orange ray widens briefly.
- The white ray stays at zero. This is not a risk. It is the design.
